Jed was an amazing Staghound who lived to be 16 years old. He lived in a puppy mill for the first seven years of his life. What a miserable life! When we adopted him (and had him for another 9 years!) the rescue representative told us with a smile, "normal people wouldn't even look at a dog like this". That stayed with me all of these years.
Jed was happy, healthy, loved and adored during his "second life".
Jed was our inspiration to form The Jed Fund, Inc., a 501(c)3 non profit organization that assists animal welfare organizations by identifying needed projects to enhance the lives of the homeless pets in their care. The Jed Fund will campaign for these projects that will ease the stress on the homeless pets and the organizations that care for them.
Adopt, don't shop. If you can't adopt, please volunteer, advocate for the homeless pets and donate so we can make a difference in the lives of these deserving animals.
